8-Year Anniversary for GottaGettaCoach!
July 4, 2008 - GottaGettaCoach! is celebrating its 8th anniversary today - thank you to all for your continued support! And a special thank you to everyone who's ever worked with me, or referred me as an Executive Coach, Management Coach, Leadership Coach, Personal Life Coach, Career Coach, Small Business Coach, or New Coach Mentor, to someone else.
Word-of-mouth recommendations is a truly powerful way for a small business to flourish. (As is doing a blog!)

Congratulations, Barry. Well done! I notice you've been blogging since June 2003 it looks like. I'd love to get your take on the current controversy about branding and blogging - which comes first. I posted about this online debate at
http://www.buildabetterblog.com/2008/07/big-time-consul.html
What has it been like for you? Did your brand come first, or did you get established because of your blog? How have you benefited from blogging over the years?
Thanks, Patsi. It's been, what, a hundred years since we BlogSquaded together at the ICF Conference in San Jose?!
I just love a good chicken-and-egg question. To wit: a doctor walks into his waiting room to see a chicken sitting in one chair, an egg in another. "Okay," he asks, "who came first?!"
My own experience, running GottaGettaCoach! and its supporting blogs - GottaGettaBLOG! and The GottaGettaBlog! Archives (plus Not Just Talk! my quarterly newsletter) - suggests a more symbiotic relationship between brand and blog: Sometimes clients and prospects come for the brand and stay for the blog; other times they come to the blog (via a related Google search) and stay for the brand.
Each one, by itself, is a prerequisite for success, but neither one, by itself, is sufficient for success.
